In F. Punk Junkies by Teo Castellanos, six figures, inspired by the Orishas from Yoruba cosmology and Caribbean folklore, tell a series of stories connecting the “inbetween”. Not set in a specific time or place, the figures take form in an otherworldly vessel through Afro-futurist and Afro-punk aesthetics. Displayed through dramatic line, color, and form, the costumes embody the energy of the Orishas without being an exact replication. Although each figure is unique, their shoes connect them all, grounding them as deities representing the African diaspora.
